Viisi päivää uutta uutta vuotta takana, ja niistä suurin osa mennyt Vaskenruosteyrttitarha-installaation valmistelun kanssa. Installatio oli edellisen kerran esillä Taidehalli TR1:ssä Tampereelta syksyllä 2013 ja palasi sieltä siis jo yli vuosi sitten, mutta vasta nyt, kun uusi näyttely kolkuttelee oven takana, sain aikaiseksi vihdoin käydä purkamassa paketit. Nesteet olin melkein kaikista tyhjentänyt jo samantien Tampereen näyttelyn päätyttyä, mutta koko koko viime vuoden saivat kuparikukkaseni kasvaa laatikon pohjalla rauhassa aivan uskomattoman sinisiksi/turkooseiksi ryöpyiksi. Mutta ei voi mitään, pakko oli saada astiat uuteen käyttöön. Niinpä kuvasin kaikki kupariyrtit, keräsin espanjanvihreän pigmentin talteen ja siivosin sekä kukat että lasiastiat, laitoin uudet kukat valmiiksi istutusta varten ja pakkasin hellästi kuplamuoviin ja sanomalehtipaperiin. Nyt ovat laatikot työhuoneella valmiina noutoa varten. Prosessi jatkuu parin viikon päästä Oulussa.

Five days past already, of this new year, and most of those I have prepared my Copper Rust Herb Garden installation. The installation was shown last time at Taidehalli TR1 in Tampere during fall 2013 and it came back over a year ago, but it was until now, when a new exhibition is soon coming, when I finally got myself to unpack the parcels. I had already emptied all the liquids right after the Tampere exhibition ended, but during the whole last year my small copper herbs were forgotten, so they could peacefully grow to be those unbelievable blue/turquoise flowers. But no can do, I had to re-use those vessels. So, I documented all my copper herbs, I collected the verdigris pigment and cleaned both the herbs and glass vessels, I made some new flowers ready to be planted and I gently packed them in bubble wrap and old newspapers. Now there are new parcels waiting at the studio, to be picked and shipped to Oulu, where the process continues after a few weeks.
