Viikko alkaa lomapäivällä / Starting the week by having a day off

Loppu hyvin, kaikki hyvin.

All well that ends well. I managed to get my Hygge 2017 booth tolerable with covering the whole booth with a0 sized cream white papers: we just stapled the papers to the walls. (Of course it could have been much wiser to use some cheaper paper, but now I'm having new material for my unique notebooks that I can continue working with while watching telly.) On Friday evening, while we were setting up the booth, I estimated that I would do just fine with the existing general light, it was a bit shady but I wouldn't use another hundred euros for extra light - but I didn't guess at all that when I'd arrive to the place on Saturday morning, the lights would be dimmed to about half for this very atmospheric "hygge ambiance". Well, I grabbed the only battery-lights at home, as well as one dim-lighted desk lamp. It wasn't the most sophisticated solution, but not so bad as you could think, and my clients and I had a laugh about it. A lot. No possibility to read the pencil written names of the artworks but it was a great way to start the conversation.

I also conquered the extra wall that had appeared next to my booth (which wasn't at the original floor plan, when I decided to book the booth). After the irritation first, it turned out to be quite good thing: an extra wall for my Café-Bistro Miniprint illustration works - they are a lot colourful than my 'serios' art and were seen a lot further in that hygge lighting.

Unfortunately, not too many people found their way to the event. It was almost awkwardly silent now and then... but in another hand, in no other events I haven't got enough time to get myself a treat in a massaging chair or go and do some crafts on the booth next to me. And it's not really about the quantity but the quality of the people I met: there were some amazing moments and enough time to talk about nearly anything. And the biggest plus was, that enough many of my artworks found a new home, and I did make some profit, kind of (= I did pay my booth with the sales, even I didn't get enough for my work through the whole weekend - but that's kind of constant in this job.)

A lot of things were a bit out of tune, but still I did laugh so much through the weekend, both with the visitors at my booth and the next booth neighbors that my cheeks started to hurt. Not a bad sign.

Now, on Monday, I have hygged my way through the day wearing woollen socks and sucking a throat pastille. The day has passed fast even I haven't done anything (but watched the sad, sad news, both from Spain and from US). Tomorrow I'm going to take a few print deliveries to Gallery Becker, and then put everything on their places at the studio, with some mini inventory, and packing a few artworks to Kakslauttanen - and some cardboard is arriving. On Wednesday I'm going to have a bit easier day again, but then, on Thursday - I'll get to work with totally new artworks!
