Rikoimme helatorstain hiljaisuutta kokoamalla toisen Expedit-hyllyn ja porailemalla kummankin hyllyn taakse lisävaneria ja kulmarautoja vahvikkeeksi ennenkuin siirsimme hyllyt paikalleen. Jälleen hyvä päivä työskentelyyn: ulkona on kylmä ja niin harmaata ja synkeää, että on pitänyt pitää valoja päällä koko päivän ja sade ropisee kotoisasti ikkunaan. Sen verran tuo pelkkä rakennusprojekti lohkaisi päivästä aikaa (itse hyllyjen kokoaminen ei juurikaan, mutta tuo vahvistusruuvailu ja pähkäily), että projekti jatkunee vielä viikonloppuna lopullisella seinään pulttaamisella.

Olen ihan villinä riemusta leikellyt kahdeksasta hyllypaketeista taustapahveja teoksilleni. Saan vähäksi aikaa kunnon varaston pakkausmateriaalista, mistä on aina pulaa (en halua maksaa itseäni kipeäksi valmispaketeista - ja muutenkin suosin kierrätettyä). Siinä missä tuo projektihuone alkaa hiljalleen siistiytyä, on oma työhuoneeni muuttunut hiljalleen sekaiseksi pahvi- ja muovivarastoksi. Leikkelen materiaaleja sopivan kokoisiksi hiljalleen zeniläisessä hengessä siistimmiksi kasoiksi. Jospa se työhuonekin täältä joskus tulee uudelleen näkyviin...

Tänään olen hyllyn kokoamisen ohessa kirjoittanut ja lähettänyt tarjouksen melko suuresta kuvitustyöstä. Ei ole  vielä lainkaan varmaa, tilataanko koko urakkaa minulta ylipäätään, mutta olen silti jo luonnostellut paperin kulmat täyteen. Aihe on tärkeä ja itselleni läheinen ja briiffin luettuani tuntui, että kynä vain alkoi liukua automaattisesti paperia pitkin. Toivottavasti tästä pääsen tarinoimaan jatkossa enemmänkin. Peukut pystyyn!


We broke the silence of the Ascension Day (which is public holiday in Finland) by assembling the another Expedit shelf and by adding some plywood and angle irons to both before moving them to their final places. Again it was a perfect day for this kind of work: it's cold outside, and so grey and dark, that we've had lights on the whole day. The rain patters comfortable to the window glass (well, it's nice to be inside and warm). Assembling the shelves didn't take much time, but other things - adding the plywood and additional screws and angle irons - took so much hours that the project will continue still maybe a day or two. Hopefully we'll get to bolt the whole thing to a wall next weekend.

With wild joy I've been cutting all the cardboard of the eight shelf packages to my own package use. I'll have a proper stock of packaging material, which is normally almost always finished (because I don't want to use all my finances on buying expensive packaging materials - and also I prefer using this kind of recycled material). While the another room slowly starts to be organized heaven, my work room has turned into a cardboard and plastic wrap storage with piles of stuff lying around. I'm cutting all this material suitable for my purposes and try to make the piles smaller. Maybe I'll see my workroom floor again soon...

Today I've also written and sent an offer of quite large illustration work. It's not certain, that the project will be handed to me, but I've already have filled the paper corners with sketches. The theme of the illustration project is very important and very close to myself, and after reading a brief, my pen just started to move by itself... I hope I can tell more about this project later.
